Abstract
Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic arrives as an emergency and challenging situation, especially for nurses. Nurses have feelings ranging from fear, job responsibilities, and professional ethics; nurses maintain safety with their knowledge and skills. This study aims to find nurses experiences related to the pandemic. This was qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenological design. Participants were 15 nurses who were on duty in the unit of COVID-19 at hospitals and were delivering or have delivered direct care for patients with COVID-19. Data was collected from in-depth interview and analyzed with Colaizzi techniques. This study found psychological disorders among nurses in carrying their roles, coping management regarding the nursing workload, and professional care models during the pandemic. This study explains that in a pandemic, all forms of support and protection for patients are the responsibility of nurses in carrying out their roles. This study has become a particular workload for nurses to provide nursing care during the pandemic. Keywords: coping management, nurses management, professional care, psychological disorder
